Summary: Beautiful facilities and some fantastic employees. The ladies at the spa were wonderful, Tyare our server at Di Roza and Chantel at Calypzo were fantastic and very hospitable. Other than that, I’m not saying the employees were rude but as someone whose been to Jamaica numerous time, the hospitality you look for in a high end inclusive resort wasn’t there. In a 5 day and 4 night stay, Not once did a server by the beach and pool ask if we needed anything and the one we called over one day avoided eye contact and continued to service others. In addition, some of the wait staff at bars and restaurants were very noncholant and too many times ran out of things. Like why does the island vibes pool run out of mango by 3pm everyday? Just stock more in the morning. The Ziva side certainly has the better and more hospitable staff but we stood on the Zilara end. Little things go a long way, like robes, bubbles for the tub.. we had a swim up room and oftentimes had to ensure we had the things we needed to enjoy, including getting out the water (pools don’t connect) to be able to get drinks, but others certainly had workers coming over to them. It left more to be desired despite me really loving the facilities and some of the workers.

Summary: Hyatt Zilara was a huge pleasure! The staff is soooo friendly and helpful. The food was great, even at the buffet! Urban was my favorite restaurant. The pool, the cabanas, the beach, the proximity of everything is perfect!!!!

Summary: The food was the same every day. I have better Jamaican food in the United States then I had on the resort.. the further you go to the beach, you start losing access to the Internet. To leave off the resort cause way too much money it was only two of us and they wanted $80 there and $80 back that’s $160 US dollars Uber is way more cheaper which I found out the last day that they have Uber there and it is cheaper. No one tells you about Uber. They only tell you to get a driver. The resort is nice, but the rooms definitely need to be upgraded. They charge too much money to have those outdated rooms. And the walls are so thin you can hear the people next-door talking everything there is super expensive. I took pictures for none of my birthday and paid $300 for a package and they airdrop the pictures to me. They didn’t even print out pictures. Yes, they came out nice I truly only want four pictures which they told me would be $25 plus tax for each picture but at the seeing a pictures, we decided to get the package because it would be more cheaper. The jerk chicken is nothing but grilled chicken and you add jerk sauce. They’re not seasoning that chicken with jerk the peas and rice. You can’t even taste the coconut milk in it you have to add a lot of salt to it to get a good taste from it. I’m definitely not looking forward to going back.

Summary: The service is amazing here. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Our room had a few maintenance issues and they were corrected in a timely manner. Our ac unit struggled the entire time tho. The resort, as a whole, is a bit outdated. The food was just ok but the staff doesn’t shy away from making sure you have plenty of drinks to make you comfortable. The beach is amazing and the swim up pool area is even better.

Summary: Room was wonderful! Rodney and Elvis were wonderful bartenders near the pool/beach. One of the bellhops helped us out tremendously when our tour never picked us up. He was an older gentleman I think named cliff or chad. Something that started with a C.

Summary: We had previously stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in Cancun, and absolutely loved it. The Rose Hall location was nice, but definitely didn’t live up to our experience in Cancun. The Zilara buildings are in need of update/maintenance, but were generally clean and the AC worked well. The pools were clean and not overly crowded except for the swim up bar area - a birthday party seemed to occupy that section of the pool for several days. Sand on the beach was well maintained- seaweed was minimal and removed each morning; a little rocky in the water. Food was generally disappointing. Dinner menu at Urban Heat looked amazing but both meat and seafood were completely overcooked and underseasoned. Fuzion was the best option, and Petit Pariz and DeRosa were both decent. Highlights were the Sous Vide chicken, duck, and pad thai. The Jamaican food festival was also good with many options. Many of those items (fried fish, chicken, rice and beans) were also available at the Calypzo outdoor lunch buffet. Breakfast buffet at Choices was crowded with kids, so we chose Urban Heat most mornings which offered both a la carte and a small buffet. The Jerk hut had good chicken and pork. The Ziva coffee and piano bars were better than Zilara options. Food at Union Jack wasn't very good and service was slow. Activities were disappointing relative to Ziva Cancun. Very few options other than dancing, and most were not on schedule. Overall a decent resort with friendly staff, ut not likely to go back.
